Air Fryer Donuts

This recipe comes from Facebook.  I saved it because one, I thought it was a cool idea and two, it reminded me of when I was little making donuts in the electric frying pan with my Dad.  I am looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can jumbo flaky biscuits (Pillsbury Grands).
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
  • 1/2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 5 tbsp. butter, melted.
Instructions:

  • Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees.
  • To do this, simply turn your air fryer on at 360 degrees and let it run for about 3 - 5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar, set aside.
  • Open the can of biscuits and cut out a 1 inch hole in the center of each one.
  • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
  • Place the donuts (not the holes) in the air fryer.
  • Bake for 5 minutes at 360 degrees.
  • As the donuts are cooking, melt the butter.
  • Using a silicone pastry brush, coat the the baked donuts with melted butter.
  • The cover them with the cinnamon sugar mixture by dipping and rolling around.
  • Use a spoon to coat the top as well.
  • Gently shake off excess cinnamon and sugar.
  • Serve donuts hot.

-Donut Holes-

  • When frying the donut holes, set the timer for 3 minutes and repeat the process of dipping in butter and adding the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
