Cleanin' Out My Closet

On Saturday, my wife took me clothes shopping.  She has decided it is time for me to update and upgrade my wardrobe.   Apparently, according to her, I dress like an old man to which I respond, what do you expect I am an old man.

However, despite my objections, I have hated clothes shopping as long as I can remember, off we went to buy me a few "essentials".  My wife decreed that I needed at least two pair of jeans and a couple of new t-shirts.

I walked into the store in a pair of jeans with a 52 inch waist.  I realize that since we have joined TOPS they have started to get a little looser, but they are nicely worked-in and comfortable.  However this is where shopping started to get interesting.

My wife had picked me a style of jeans (I have no idea what the different cuts are) and handed me a pair of 50" and 48" ones to try one.  I started with the 50s, why build my hopes up right, but they were way to big.  I was pleasantly surprised and tried on the 48s which received my wife's seal of approval.

So the second style she picked started with a size 48.  Once again, I was pleasantly surprized as they were way to big.  So in this case it was the 46s that got the wife's seal of approval.

I also got three new t-shirts and a hoodie (I got this because my wife picked it out because she liked it) and a Tommy Bahamas' Hawaiian Shirt (which I got to pick out for myself).  All of these were sized 3xl, which I think I can safely say I have not worn since high school.   Perhaps this shopping stuff won't be so bad after all as I continue to loose weight.

Upon returning home, I went through my side of the closet and have a nice donation set aside for the Salvation Army.  A couple of golf shirts, and handful of t-shirts, an a few pair of sweat pants.  By the way, it feels really good to clear out and donate clothing because it is now too big instead of too small.
