As I write this post it is a little after 2:00 PM. The dog and I have just returned from our afternoon stroll and he has settled in until dinner time. What a day it has been so far, we have seen more goings on than we usually see in a week.
It started this morning when the dog and I were out for our morning walk. As we were walking along the side of the building, we were passed by a fire truck. It turned the corner and joined the ambulance already parked in front of our building (at 7:00 AM).
At 11:30, I took my wife to work a little early we had to stop at Cobs Bread, which is not relevant to the story but I can get a cheap plug in for them. The fire department had the road (a block over) closed off. Did not think much of it until I was on my way home after dropping her off.
As a result of whatever happened a block over, the area around it lost power including our house. Also the traffic lights at the traffic circle were without power. You know how hard it is to get people to take turns driving through an intersection when the lights are out, imagine the fun of four intersections connected in a circle.
While that would seem to be enough for one day. We were not done just yet. The day had, at least, one more surprise in store.
As the dog and I were getting to go for the afternoon stroll I mentioned above, we have yet another ambulance outside the front door. No fire truck accompaniment this time. This time they were met by an ambulance supervisor.
