Instant Pot Sloppy Joes

My Father has been singing the praises of his instant pot for more than a year now.  A few months ago we broke down and bought one of our own.  This, I think, is my first instant pot recipe, sent to me by my father.

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • 6 buns

Directions:
  • Set instant pot to saute.
  • wait unit the display says Hot then brown ground beef, for about 3 - 4 minutes, then add onion.
  • Stir and let the onion saute for 3 - 4 more minutes.
  • Drain off any excess grease.
  • Stir in chili sauce, water, mustard, chili powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover and secure lid
  • Set the manual/pressure cook setting and set for 10 minutes on high pressure.
  • Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes then move the valve to venting and release any remaining pressure.
  • Stir the mixture.
  • Add the cream cheese and stir until melted (saute setting will melt it a little faster).
  • Serve on buns.
