A very Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating the harvest feast this weekend. Originally, my wife and I were not going to celebrate with a big dinner this year. That is until she went shopping yesterday to "pick up a few things" to tide us over and came home with a turkey and all the trimmings.
As I write this post this morning, I am procrastinating a little bit. It is time for to take the dog for his warning walk and I am in no rush. It is still dark and very cold outside.
In fact, yesterday we, all be it briefly, had snow on the ground. It did not last very long and there was still more green than white, but it snowed none the less. Of course, we live in the North and snow on Thanksgiving weekend should not really be that much of a shock.
I suppose the point of the last two paragraphs, which I likely could have summed up quicker, is that I am thankful for a warm home. And despite not planning on a big meal this weekend, I am thankful for food on my table. Last, but by no means least, I am thankful for the company I will share that meal with.
Today, may everyone have a warm place, enough food, and some pleasant company. A very Happy Thanksgiving to all.
