Canada became a country on July 1, 1867, when the British Parliament passed the British North America Act.

The longest highway in the world is the Trans-Canada Highway which is over 7,604 kilometres in length.

Half of the country is covered with forests, most of which is publicly owned and can be explored!

Six cities in Canada have a population of over 1 million: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa.

The capital of Canada is Ottawa, the second coldest capital in the world after Moscow.

Hawaiian pizza was actually invented by an Ontario man, comes from Chatham, Ontario, and dates back to 1962.

Almost half of the population in Canada were born in other countries.

128,000 Canadian households have TV’s in the bathroom.

The first national park in Canada was Banff National Park established in 1885.

In Churchill Manitoba, nobody locks their doors to their house or cars in case of a polar bear attack.

You can write a letter in any language and send it to the North Pole, H0H 0H0, Canada and you will receive a letter back from Santa.

In 2012 the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist was national news when someone stole 3000 tons of maple syrup in Quebec valued at $18 million dollars.
