It has been 5 years since we lost my mother and today would have been her 81st birthday. It took me a long time to decide what words I wanted to use in this post to say how much I still miss her, when it occurred to me how much she has missed. My mother was not there to see my wife and I buy our first home, she didn't get to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with us, and she did not see her eldest grandchild walk across the stage as a university graduate. All events that would have made her proud, happy, and likely cry a little too.
