Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo



This recipe popped up in my Facebook feed and comes from plainchicken.com.  There are only five ingredients in the dish and it takes about fifteen minutes from start to finish.  Give it a try next time you need a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package turkey smoked sausage, cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 8 ounces pasta (I have a bag of bow tie in the pantry so that is what I am using)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:

  • Prepare pasta according to directions; drain and set aside.
  • Sauté sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat for five minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Add cream and Cajun seasoning; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; simmer gently for 3-4 minutes or unit mixture begins to thicken.
  • Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese.
  • Add pasta to sauce and toss.
