Last week I enquired if our cable company would be offering Disney+. I was informed that streaming companies do not share their services with cable companies. Which I found surprising since I have ordered both Netflix and Crave via cable.
So I looked into alternative measures. I found out that Disney+ would be available via Roku. While I do not have any experience with the system, my Father has had a Roku device for a few years. It was a Christmas gift from my Brother (mainly for my Mother before she passed away).
I e-mailed him and said that my wife and I were interested in picking one up and where did my brother get it and how much did it cost. My Father sent me a link showing it available at Staples, but I would guess that Best Buy and even Walmart would carry it as well.
This morning we were going to go out and see what we could find and how much it would cost us. That was until my Father called me on Thursday morning to ask if we had gone and gotten it yet. I told him we had not, but an expedition was planned for today.
He said he had found it on Amazon and could order it and have it delivered to us. I said how much did Amazon want for it? He said yeah...it would be delivered the next day (Friday) and would be an early Christmas present.
In other words he was not going to tell me how much, so I said sounded good. As promised it arrived yesterday (Friday) around supper time. So the wife and I set up our Roku, Netflix, and Disney+ accounts.
We then enjoyed a new Star Wars TV series on Disney+ and started binge watched (5 episodes) of a comedy series on Netflix. I was amazed as we scrolled through all the options and even found some gems from my childhood (Herbie the Love bug). However I reminded my wife that it couldn't be Roku all the time; after all we are still paying for a cable package via our condo fees.
