My wife and I have a dog, we have had him for 8 1/2 years. I am pretty sure that I have mentioned him previously in a post or two. And, whether I have or have not, I am about to today.
Last week we received a letter from our Condo Management team indicating that complaints had been made against him by other residents of the building. What these concerns were is not important as we have taken action and resolved the concerns. One of the actions we are taking is that we will now take him in and out of our condo via our own front door.
This was not a major concern for either of us because we frequently take him out via the front door. The other day, we took him for a ride with us for the first time since the concerns were raised. I felt a need to share with you what went through my mind during this operation.
One of us, usually my wife, has to go to the parking lot and bring the truck around to the front of the building. The other one of us, usually me, stands inside the front door keeping vigil. Once the truck is parked out front we spring into action.
After confirming that the coast is clear, I hustle the dog out and get him in the truck. I then come back inside the condo, lock the front door, leave via the hallway door (locking it too), and exit via the building's front entrance. We then reverse the process when we come home.
What ran through my mind a we did this was that we are now doggie secret service. I felt like I was hustling the President in and out of the car, just like in the movies. Nevertheless, it made me smile, and I hope the image of it has made you smile as well.
