The Week That Was

First off, Happy Canada Day to those celebrating today and an early happy fourth of July to those celebrating later this weekend.

I realized this morning that I have started a couple of posts this week.  I have started but never finished or posted them.  Not to mention the four or five recipe drafts I have ready to go.

So I have decided to mash them all together, except for the recipes, into one post.

Let us start at the beginning shall we...

  • On Monday, after two weeks of waiting for the bank to figure itself out, we finally got our new car.  A 2017 Ford Escape SE with most of the bells an whistles: navigation, back up camera, and my personal favorite the auto start/stop (it turns off when stopped and starts again when you release the break.
  • On Tuesday, it was my 48th birthday.  We did not do anything really special (I'm saving that for my 50th), but we did take the new car out for a nice drive.
  • On Thursday, we made it official and too the new car to be registered and gave it a bath.

I guess it was pretty much all one post anyway.  Everything seemed to revolve around the new car, even my birthday.  Which reminds me, I am suppose to tell people my wife got me a new car for my birthday.

I think that is because she wants to raise the bar for her next birthday.
