I had planned to write this post this morning. But I just couldn't seem to get started. I sat down again thirty minutes ago to start writing it again. But first I had to check e-mail, Facebook, and peruse the sports news.
When I was a kid, the Christmas tree and decorations came down on New Year's Day. It was a family tradition. A tradition that my wife and I have carried on, until this year. I came up with today's topic last night, as we finished taking down the last of the Christmas decorations.
This year did not really have that Christmas feel to it. I know my Father had mentioned feeling something similar on Christmas Eve. Perhaps the decorations did not come down on time, as a way of prolonging the holiday. Either that or we were just really lazy the last few days of the holiday.
Of course New Year's Day also means resolutions. I made three this year. One was health related. I resolved to only eat one serving at meals. It has already been broken. One was domestically related. I resolved to wash the dishes right away after we finished eating. It has already been broken. My final resolution was technical. I resolved to use more of the features on my cellphone. That one is still ongoing. However, I have yet to leave the house this year.
