Welcome to our new apartment high above the city. It has been a long journey (that we have not quite finished, as there are a few more boxes to unpack), but one we think will be well worth the effort. Now that we have internet and cable again, it seems much more like home.
As you may have guessed by the title of this post our apartment is on the ninth floor, which puts us about half way up the building. Our windows face East and South, so we are bathed in sunlight for most of the day. Our windows also give us beautiful views of the river valley.
As I mentioned before, we have downgraded from a two bedroom to a one bedroom suite, yet our new home is about one hundred square feet bigger than our old one. The day that we picked up the keys, my wife seemed disappointed, she felt it seemed smaller than before. However, once we started moving furniture in, she realized just how much space we have.
Our new building has a warm, welcoming staff. Our new neighbours say hello and tell us how much we will like living here. Although it is only been a couple of days, I think they are right.
