Impulse Buying

Last weekend my wife and I went to an open house at Smokehouse Grills.  We were introduced to them when we went to the open house a few weeks ago at Serben Farms.  We had really like the BBQ sauce they were selling and planned the trip to see what else they had.

At the open house we bought a couple of bottles of sauce and a couple of different rubs.  As we were getting ready to leave, we started looking at a wood pellet smoker/grill that they had on sale.  Needless to say that we bought it.

We get it home and left it in the back of the truck because we were going to set it up the next day.  I started to wonder if our condo board was going to allow it so I checked the bi-laws and could not find anything that said we could not.  However, during my search, the city's bi-laws also came up.

This is where we hit a snag.  If we lived across the road in one of the single family homes it would not be a problem.  If we lived in one of the duplexes across the street we would be fine.  But in our condo such a BBQ is a no-no.

Now as the BBQ was on sale when we bought it the sale is final and we cannot return it.  My wife is going to list it on her job's intranet with the hope of selling it.  We are both sure that it will go pretty quickly, but if it does not then when we go to visit our son in September he will be getting one hell of a belated birthday gift.
