We are back in renovation mode. We have purchased a new (stackable) washer and dryer, and the old ones, as of Saturday morning, are gone. So while we are awaiting delivery of the new pair it is time to renovate the laundry cupboard.
I had 3 jobs as part of the project:
- Remove the closet doors.
- Remove the closet doors' track.
- Remove the shelf.
It would have saved me a lot of effort on Saturday. While I thought the shelf was simply resting on the small plastic blocks (and they would screw into the wall), the blocks were hollow and there were two screws inside (the one attaching it to the wall and another attaching it to the shelf). And, of course, like everything else we have dealt with in our condo, the screw holding the the block to the wall was more than long enough for the job.
So instead of double checking, like a good handyman would, and popping the shelf and blocks out quickly with the drill, I had to unscrew them all by hand. Also, like everything else we have tackled in our condo, a variety of screw heads were used. I also had to remove the track by hand, but I am not counting that because my wife did not tell me that was coming out until right before I had to remove it.
