My wife and I have been practicing both social distancing and semi-self-isolation. The sad thing is that I have not really made any major changes to my life as a result. I guess the biggest sacrifice I have made are small outings my wife and I would take to get out of the house, I.E. she loved "poking" around 2nd hand stores and antique shops.
We live in, and I am likely one of the youngest residents of, a 45+ building. It is not uncommon for me not to leave the house for days at a time as it is. Other than daily dog walks, which we take at non-peak hours, and running garbage down to the garbage room, I am in our apartment most of the time already.
We used to eat out, go for drives, or go shopping to pass the time. I think the biggest outing that I have had in the past two weeks was driving an hour each way to one of the smaller towns in the area in hopes of finding some TP. The only excitement we have planned in the near future is driving to the farm to refill our freezer.
So self-isolation has not been a great concern to me. However, that being said, I hope things get better soon. Either I am allergic to something in the hand soap my wife bought, or my skin is getting really dried out from all the handwashing, and I do hope to still have some skin on the back of my hands at the end of this.
