Slow-Cooked Savory Chicken

This recipe is excellent for making a head and storing in the freezer.  A great go-to when company is coming.

Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp. dries oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. chicken bouillon
  • 1 tsp. fresh parsley, chopped

Directions:
  • Pat chicken breasts dry.
  • In a small bowl, mix the oregano, salt, and pepper togther.
  • Sprinkle on both sides of the chicken breasts and gently pat down to hold in place.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Once butter is melted, add chicken.
  • Cook chicken for 4 - 6 minutes on each side, then transfer chicken into slow cooker.
  • Using the same skillet, add the lemon juice, water, garlic, and chicken buillon.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Pour over chicken in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  • Sprinkle with parsley 15 minutes before serving.
