The Morning Stroll

As responsible pet parents, my wife and I insure that the dog gets outside regularly.  While we have to make sure that he has a chance to take care of his business, we know he also needs fresh air and exercise.  He goes for 3 walks a day: morning, afternoon, and evening.

I am usually responsible for the first two walks of the day.  However, I also do the evening walk on those days when my wife is working afternoons.  The dog and I have 3 routes that we like to take.

First, we have the quick walk (out the backdoor and round to the front door) which is reserved for rainy or really cold days.  Our regular route is a walk around our apartment complex, it is about 1/2 a mile and gives him plenty of time to do what he has got to do.  Our final route stretches our walk out and gives him plenty of sniff time as we walk along the top edge of the river valley.

My favorite walk is our morning stroll,  While on a weekday, like today, there is a fair amount of traffic as we do live right off a major thoroughfare.  However, there is nothing like a Sunday morning walk.

Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, sometimes we do not see another living soul.  I especially enjoy it at this time of year.  It is very enjoyable going out there as the sun is starting to make its appearance.
