Christmas Cleaning Frenzy

This is a very special weekend for me.  While today is Black Friday, not very special to me at all, tomorrow, the 25th of November is one month until Christmas.  This year, it is also my mother's 75th birthday.

Tomorrow will be the start of the weekend long process (3 days because my wife doesn't work Mondays) of decorating our apartment for the holidays.  It really brings out the kid on me, Christmas music playing in the background as we transform our home for Christmas.  And while I am looking forward to it, there is a small part of me that is also dreading it.

I dread it because, what would take me an hour maybe two when I lived on my own, will take the majority of the weekend.  It will take my wife the better part of a day just to get the ornaments on the tree just right.  And while I find the process overly drawn out, the end result will be well worth it.

So today, so that we are not slowed down further tomorrow, is my pre-decorating cleaning frenzy.  That way we will not have to dust, wipe down, or vacuum before an ornament can be placed.  And in the long run, that will make the decorating seem a little quicker and much more fun.
