My wife and I are both fans of the CBC show Still Standing with Jonny Harris. On last week's show, Jonny visited the Village of Edgerton, Alberta. Well, Edgerton is only a couple of hours drive, so we figured we had better go check it out.
In that episode, Jonny went for a motorcycle ride with the mayor, engaged his core with some belly dancing, and discovered the true horse power behind chuckwagon racing. We did not do any of the above, but we did drive by the Farmer's Market (all 4 stands) and picked up some of the Ribstone Creek Brewery's beer.
An added benefit of this trip was that it took us through the town of Wainwright on the way home. Now, while Jonny hasn't visited Wainright ( I do not think), my wife and I have been there once before. We stopped at MJ's roadside stand for ice cream.
Well, this time we got the full meal deal. A bacon cheeseburger, fresh cut french fries, and a drink. While that was enough to fill up my wife, I finished my meal off with a large chocolate milkshake to go.
We have already made plans to take a trip to Irma (there is a quilting store and antique shop my wife wants to visit). While neither location really excites me, the excursion will include a stop at MJ's for lunch. The best praise I can give is that it is worth the trip to Wainwright.
