My wife and I have an ongoing debate as to what constitutes a hot turkey sandwich. I am a traditionalist and believe that it is as pictured, Just turkey and gravy on bread. My wife has a different idea.
First you toast the bread, mayo on both pieces. Then you pile turkey and stuffing, and add gravy. Finally, you top it off with cranberry sauce.
While this does make for a tasty sandwich. It is not a hot turkey sandwich. I think calling it a Christmas or Thanksgiving sandwich would be more appropriate.
