I often will wander around Facebook on days when I have a hard time thinking of a post topic. Today while I was exploring, I paused to congratulate my friend's daughter on being named class valedictorian. I had been scrolling for about 5 minutes when it hit me. My high school friend's daughter is graduating from high school.
I realize that I am getting older. But was it not just yesterday (27 years ago) that he and I walked across that same stage to receive our diplomas. Where has the time gone?
I have graduated from high school and university. I have been married, divorced, and remarried. Yet it all seems to have passed in the blink of an eye.
My wife and I have started discussing retirement plans. The other day, a friend told me it was time to get my affairs in order and write my will. Where has the time gone?
A week or so ago, our church choir sang at a memorial service. I listened to all the exciting things this man accomplished in his life. All the exciting places that he has visited. Well, I cannot say that I have led such an exciting life, but I can say it is, so far, been an interesting one.
