Pork Chops Parmigiana

A simple variation on the Italian classic, for those nights when I want to do something besides Shake 'N' Bake.  As always...Kraft Recipe, Kraft Ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 4 boneless pork chops (1 lb./450 g)
  • 1/4 cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Light Grated Cheese
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz./225 g) sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 jar (700 mL) pasta sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil or 1 Tbsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 cup Cracker Barrel Shredded Light 4 Cheese Italiano Cheese

              Directions:
              • Heat oven to 350ºF.
              • Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. 
              • Add chops; cook 2 min. on each side. 
              • Transfer to 13x9-inch baking dish, reserving drippings in skillet; sprinkle chops with Parmesan.
              • Add vegetables to drippings in skillet; cook and stir 5 to 6 min. or until tender. 
              • Stir in pasta sauce and basil; cook on medium heat 10 min., stirring occasionally. 
              • Pour over chops.
              • Bake 20 min. or until chops are done (160°F). 
              • Top with shredded cheese; bake 5 min. or until melted.


              SERVING SUGGESTION
              Serve with hot cooked pasta.
