Day Trips

Last year my wife and I took 2 trips.  Both of them were long, enjoyable yes, but long.  This year we plan to spend the summer taking many more shorter trips.

We made a run southward a few weeks ago, see Road Trip (March 13).  It was our first trip and it was nothing more than an excuse to get out of town.  Today, we went Eastward, and our trip even had a theme.

Today, we visited the world's largest Ukrainian Sausage, and Ukrainian Easter Egg, or Pysanka.  It was an easy drive, divided up by times to stretch one's legs.   We also bought sausage and perogies to have for dinner.

As I discovered putting today's trip together, some of the world’s largest wonders are accessible as day trips.  In addition to what we saw today, we can marvel at a 6000 pound perogy, 20 foot high mushrooms, the greatest pumpkin patch we’ll ever see and much, much more!  It is going to be an interesting summer.
