Last night 3 of those cases spent the night in the trunk of our car. As a result, I was able to conduct an unintentional science experiment. To prove that you actually, one day, will use all that "stuff" they teach you in school, I present this "experiment" in the scientific method.
Hypothesis: What happens if one is too lazy to bring a case of pop in from the car in the winter.
Materials:
- 1 case of Diet Lemon Lime Pop
- 1 case of Diet Ginger Ale
- 1 case of Diet Cola
- 1 Ford Focus Station Wagon
- 1 Cold winter night (temperature -12 C)
Procedure:
- Leave closed cases of Diet Lemon Lime and Diet Ginger Ale in the covered "trunk" of Ford Focus Station Wagon.
- Leave open case of Diet Cola covered in the back seat of Ford Focus Station Wagon
- Park Ford Focus Station Wagon overnight on side street.
Results:
- All three cases appear to have suffered leakage.
- 1 can from the open case of Diet Cola found outside of its case.
- Closed case of Diet Lemon Lime found damaged.
- 1 can from closed case of Diet Lemon Lime found outside of its case.
- Diet Ginger Ale case found intact.
- Both ejected cans of pop were severely damaged.
- Contents from can of Diet Cola found frozen on back seat carpet and within the open case.
- Contents from can of Diet Lemon Lime found frozen on trunk carpet and within the damaged case.
- Contents found frozen within closed case of Diet Ginger Ale, but there are no signs of damage to any of the cans.
- One half of cans in case of Diet Cola found deformed and unusable.
- One third of cans in case of Diet Lemon Lime found deformed and unusable.
- One can in case of Diet Ginger Ale found deformed and unusable.
Conclusion:
The work created by leaving the pop in the car was greater than the work of bring the pop into the house.
