Making Stock: The Aftermath

I have some pretty basic experience in the kitchen.  Normally stock is something I buy in a box at the grocery store.  Yesterday,  I had the opportunity to make my own.  All I can say is a lot of work for a little result.

I started with my dutch oven full of chicken bones, vegetables, and water.  I ended up with about a half a small sauce pan of chicken stock...and yes that is it in the photo.  I realise that what I have is actually more like chicken concentrate.  Now I have to decide what to do with it.

Currently it is sitting in a Tupperware container in the fridge.  I have a few small containers that I can transfer it to and freeze.  It would make an excellent base for soup or stew.  My father suggested filling an ice cube tray with the stock, which would then give me small squares that could be added to anything for flavour.

Personally, I think I might just go with a little from column A, and a little from column B.  I will fill 1 ice cube tray to make small frozen flavour bursts.  The rest I will transfer to a smaller container to use as the base for chicken stew.  I think stew over soup because then I can have a go at making dumplings.
