Slow-Cooker Saucy Swiss Steak

Succulent and savoury, this Swiss steak is worth the wait!  As always...Kraft recipe, Kraft ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing
  • 1 lb. beef simmer steak (blade, brisket or cross rib), cut into 4 pieces
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/4 cup 25%-less-sodium beef broth
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Directions:
  • Heat dressing in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. 
  • Meanwhile, coat meat with flour; gently shake off excess. 
  • Add meat to skillet; cook 2 to 3 min. on each side or until browned on both sides. 
  • Remove from heat.
  • Combine tomato paste, tomatoes and broth in slow cooker. 
  • Add meat and peppers; cover with lid. 
  • Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours).
  • Top with cheese just before serving.
