Deep Freeze

The dog and I have just returned from our afternoon walk.  Now that he is settled in with a cookie, and I have a hot cup of tea, I thought it was a good time to write a blog post.

This week we are getting a reminder of what it means to live in the Canadian plains.  Our average temperature this week is -21 C with a windchill of -29 (and yes I did the math).

Now these temperatures are not uncommon.  There is usually a week or two of this type of cold.  However, it is usually in late January or early February.

Currently taking the dog is the only time I leave the house if I can help it.  Sadly, I think it takes just as long, if not longer, to get bundled up to take the dog out as we are actually outside.
