The Tree Is Up...Kinda

This year we decided to upgrade our Christmas Tree. When we first got married, we were living in a small apartment, so we bought a small tree.  This year we donated our old three foot tree to the Church yard sale and bought a new (pre-lit) six and a half foot tree.

The reason for upgrading the tree is two-fold.  First we now have a larger (nicer) apartment worthy of a "real" Christmas tree.  Second this will be our fifth Christmas together as a married couple, our fifth wedding anniversary being Christmas eve.

So yesterday, with the Grey Cup on in the background, I took care of the technical aspects of putting up the tree.  I assembled the three sections, made sure that the lights work, and plugged the tree into a timer.

Then while, I sat back watching the game, my wife started trimming the tree.  This is where we get to the "kinda" part of the tree being up.  She figures it shouldn't take her more than three days to get all the ornaments and decorations exactly where she wants them.

Would the process go faster if I helped?  Yes there would be two pair of hands putting the decorations on the tree.  But, as I have learned, from previous experience, I would not be allowed to hang a decoration until I had received explicit instructions as to where it was to be hung.

She enjoys the long, painstaking process.  It is also the first year, since we have been married, that she has a tree big enough for all her ornaments and decorations. So as long as the tree is ready in time to put christmas (and anniversary) presents under.
