Road Trip

Last Monday, my wife and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather.  We took the dog and had a picnic at Wabamun Lake Provincial Park.  It is a nice easy drive out to the lake, with only a little highway driving, and the day use in Alberta's Provincial Parks is free.

We arrived at the Park and took the dog for a nice walk around the day use area.  It was not that busy on a Monday morning, mostly campers that had driven over for a swim.   We, then, settled down for lunch.

We found a nice secluded area, which looked to me like a group area.  We dropped the dog's leash and sat down for lunch.  Of course, we didn't have to worry about the dog wandering off, he does not roam far when food is available.

The original plan was to alternate between dog walking and relaxing by the lake. However, it wasn't long before we got bored and decided it was a good day for a drive instead.  So we left the park via a route we had never taken before, and were off on another adventure.

It wasn't long until my wife had a route planned out to take us to Pigeon Lake Provincial Park.  After all, we are always on the lookout for new places to go camping.  So instead of our nice easy drive (about an hour each way), we spent most of the day driving the back roads of the Province, enjoying beautiful scenery and finding new places to go.
