Today's post marks a landmark for the Domesticated House Hubby, this is my fiftieth post. It has been an interesting 4 months, my first post was November 21 (though it feels like I have been at this longer than that). Now on to your regularly scheduled post.
It is my job to keep our house clean while my wife heads off to work. While, in theory, this works, my wife likes to clean. There are days and weeks that I have little to do because she had decided to do a week's worth of jobs on the weekend. Other times, I get lucky, she picks projects that I do not do regularly, like cleaning out closets.
While looking for a topic to write about, I found a term that seems to sum up my approach to keeping our house clean...speed cleaning. Speed cleaning is being organized and efficient enough with cleaning to get the house “clean enough” in a short period of time. In addition to a daily chore, each day I sweep the floors, make the bed, do dishes, and wipe down counters. While my home my not be ready for a daily inspection, it is clean enough to welcome guests.
